Have you tried learning cursive?
Are you interested in some calligraphy classes?
I’m actually proficient in cursive, (I went to Catholic school for five years,) and have studied both Western and Chinese calligraphy.
However, cursive doesn’t usually read well unless there’s a variety of words to differentiate between, and calligraphy takes a long time either way.
Maybe someday I’ll work on improving my calligraphy again, but it’s really its own discipline/art form, and mastery takes a lot of dedication.
On that note, having a character “write everyday” by painstakingly writing out a few words in intricate calligraphy is a pretty good gag in and of itself.
